IAVM and TEAM Coalition

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VENUE MANAGERS

IAVM is a long-time member of TEAM Coalition. The two organizations have worked together to bring TEAM training and responsible fan programs (like designated driver) to a wider array of venues. IAVM members receive a discount on TEAM Training manuals and trainer certification registration.

On June 25, 2019 at 3:00 PM EST, IAVM hosted a webinar on the topic of introducing alcohol service. Alcohol service has been trending in NCAA sports venues as well as performing arts centers for the last five years. TEAM Coalition has been an integral partner for many universities as they decide to offer alcohol through general concessions, including Ohio State, the University of Texas, KU and Oregon.

ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT REASONABLE EFFORTS

INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (IDP) WORKSHOPS

Become a certified TEAM trainer by attending an Instructor Development Program (IDP) workshop. At the end of the 2-day training and after passing the certification exam, facility managers will be certified to teach the TEAM alcohol management training program and certify their own employees in the program. Trainer certification is good for two years. Recertification is available online as long as trainers have conducted four sessions or certified 80 employees before their certification expires.

IAVM members pay $550 to register, savings of $150 on the standard registration fee.

EMPLOYEE CERTIFICATION

TEAM training for facility employees is divided into two levels.

Level 1 encourages various departments to unify and work together as a team. Following the 2-hour course, there is a 20-question certification test for all employees.

Level 2 is an hour-long continuation of Level 1 training. It focuses on blood alcohol levels, checking IDs and serving guidelines. Level 2 has a 30-question certification test.

In order to certify your employees, you must purchase one manual for each employee to use during the training session. Each manual includes one certification exam. Regardless of the Level completed, upon passing the test, employees will receive a certification card, thereby recognizing every employee as a valuable asset who has achieved a greater comprehension of alcohol management techniques. Employee certification is good for three years.

Certification cards can be sent as digital PDF copies or hard copies. IAVM members pay $13 per employee for printed certification cards or $12 per manual for electronic certification cards, savings of $1 per manual on the standard manual prices.

MARKETING CAMPAIGNS

RESPONSIBILITY HAS ITS REWARDS

  • Baseball Baseball Sweepstakes
  • MLS MLS Sweepstakes
  • NASCAR NASCAR Sweepstakes
  • NBA NBA Sweepstakes
  • NFL NFL Sweepstakes
  • NHL NHL Sweepstakes

The Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) sweepstakes is TEAM Coalition’s longest-running program to recognize fans for having a plan to avoid drunk driving. Fans who pledge to be a designated driver or have a plan to get home safely are entered for a chance to win tickets or a trip to the leagues’ championship games or premier events.

TEAM Coalition is willing and eager to spread the RHIR message. TEAM member organizations are incorporating the Responsibility Has Its Rewards program in more and more events, like the Indianapolis 500 with MillerCoors and boxing events with Constellation Brands.

If you are interested in partnering with TEAM Coalition to introduce the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes – or expand upon an existing program to reward your guests for making responsible decisions with alcohol – please contact us today!
