Since September 2011, NASCAR has been an incredibly active member of TEAM Coalition. The two organizations have worked together to expand the reach of the designated driver program across the country and encourage thousands of race fans to pledge to be designated drivers.
In 2019, many different NASCAR tracks offered either a responsible fan or designated driver program at Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series™ races. Fans who register to be responsible drinkers or designated drivers pledge to prevent drunk driving and always have a designated driver.
Fans who took the responsibility pledge are then entered to win the NASCAR Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) sweepstakes. There are 3 prizes that responsible NASCAR fans have a chance to win, Responsible Fan / Designated Driver for the Race, Grand Prize winner and First Prize winner. NASCAR fans can also take the pledge online to be entered into the sweepstakes.
The Responsible Fan / Designated Driver for the Race prize will consist of VIP Access for two (2) people and access for two (2) to the next NASCAR Cup Series™ race to be held at the track where the winner was selected as the Responsible Fan – Designated Driver for the Race.
One (1) Grand Prize consisting of a trip for two (2) people to the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Championship race at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, AZ will be awarded. The Grand Prize includes round trip coach-class air transportation for winner and travel companion to Phoenix, AZ, two (2) nights’ hotel accommodations, and access for two (2) to the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship race.
One (1) First Prize consisting of a trip for two (2) people to the 2021 NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC will be awarded. The First Prize includes round trip coach-class air transportation for winner and travel companion to Charlotte, NC, two (2) nights’ hotel accommodations, and access for two (2) to the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race™.
