"The positive contributions made by TEAM are far reaching. Its mission is important to fans and spectators in stadiums, but its message also contributes to responsible conduct in our communities at large. The NFL strongly supports the TEAM program, and we are proud to be a member of the TEAM Coalition."

National Football League

2011 MLB All-Star Game In July, TEAM traveled to Phoenix, AZ to be a part of the 2011 MLB All-Star festivities for the seventh consecutive year. TEAM was once again a part of the MLB All-Star FanFest held at the Phoenix convention center leading up to the 2011 MLB All-Star Game. Over 3,500 baseball fans from all over the country had the chance to pledged to be responsible by autographing a backdrop branded with the partner and event logos. In return, they received a souvenir photo and other various giveaways. Three lucky fans that stopped by the TEAM booth were selected as our daily prize winners. Thank you to the officers of the Arizona Highway Patrol who helped us reach out to so many baseball fans this year.

2011 MLB All-Star GameJim Reese, Designated Driver of the Season for the Pittsburgh Pirates, joined TEAM in Phoenix as the first prize winner of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards Sweepstakes. Jim and his wife Nancy received roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and tickets to the All-Star FanFest, the XM All-Star Futures Game, the Taco Bell Legends & Celebrities Softball Game, the State Farm Home Run Derby and the 2011 MLB All-Star Game.

Congratulations again to Jim Reese and thank you to the over 400,000 baseball fans that signed up to be designated drivers during the 2010 Major League Baseball season.

In late July, TEAM visited Red Bull Arena for the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

2011 AT&T MLS All-Star GameFor the sixth consecutive year, TEAM was a part of soccer celebration, a fan fest area outside of Red Bull Arena offering fans many interactive activities as they entered the stadium. TEAM offered over 300 fans souvenir photos, TEAM branded lip balms, and sunscreens all for just making the pledge to be responsible.

In addition, Teresa Wojnowski joined TEAM at the MLS All-Star Game as winner of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. Teresa, along with her daughter Melissa, was honored on the field at halftime for her commitment to responsibility. Thanks once again to Anheuser-Busch, Major League Soccer and most importantly, the over 12,000 MLS fans that pledged to be designated drivers during the 2010 season!

D-backs fansAs the 2011 MLB season begins its home stretch, the Designated Driver Challenge between the D-backs and the Rockies also reaches its final two series.

The D-backs hosted the Rockies for a three-game series in July where more than 1,000 fans pledged to be designated drivers.

Rockies fansThe D-backs hope to extend their lead during the August 29-31 series at Chase Field. Rockies fans will have one last chance to make a final push for victory when the Rockies host the D-backs on September 5-7 at Coors Field.

All the program partners, including TEAM, MillerCoors, the Colorado State Police, the Arizona Highway Patrol, the Rockies and the D-backs would like thank all of the baseball fans that signed up to be designated drivers during this season and for making this promotion a huge success.

Nationals RHIROn August 16 and 17, TEAM took the short trip up to Nationals Park to promote the message of responsibility with Nationals fans as the Nationals prepared to face the Cincinnati Reds. Fans who pledged to be designated drivers received a souvenir photo. And on August 17 fans had the chance to film their own responsibility message. Thank you to all the Nationals fans that signed up to be designated drivers!

Green Bay Packers RHIRTwo days later, TEAM visited Green Bay, WI, home of the World Champion Green Bay Packers to film a public service announcement with their fans. Over 200 fans stopped by the Tundra Tailgate Zone and signed the larger than life inflatable football and filmed their message to fans to be great - designate! The PSA will be shown throughout the 2011 NFL season at Lambeau Field celebrating Packers fans as spokespeople of responsibility.

Minnesota Vikings RHIRNext week TEAM will travel to Minneapolis, MN to encourage Vikings fans to pledge to be responsible and to always have a designated driver. Vikings fans will be the celebrities of responsibility as they film their messages in front of the 10 ft tall inflatable football prior to their game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Thanks to all the fans who are showing their support of responsible fan behavior!

TEAM Coalition is thrilled to announce a new program for facility managers. In conjunction with K&K Insurance, a leader in sports and entertainment insurance, this excess liability program offers high quality coverage at aggressive rates. And a portion of the premium paid will go toward the cost of TEAM training materials!

Click here for more details about the program.

TEAM Coalition spoke to club, suite and premium area directors at the Association of Luxury Suite Directors annual conference in Los Angeles, CA. Members of ALSD can make a huge impact on alcohol management for any large-scale facility. The unique access to alcohol beverages in these areas can be a concern when it comes to underage drinking as well as over-consumption.

Establishing and communicating policies with clients for these areas during the contract process and on the event night itself are important reasonable efforts. No matter how significant the investment, luxury suite contracts will never outweigh the loss of a liquor license. So responsible alcohol management must reach all areas of the facility.

WVU TEAM Training At four locations over three months, nearly 800 employees became TEAM certified by TEAM's in-house Master Trainer. While TEAM Coalition's primary training function is to educate facility managers and certify them as TEAM trainers so that they can certify their employees in the program, TEAM also values the opportunity to train employees directly. And the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, University of Michigan and West Virginia University made that happen this summer.

Danielle Riley

TEAM Coalition was very proud to welcome Danielle Riley as our intern this summer. Danielle is entering her senior year at Wilmington University in Delaware and is the co-captain of the Cross Country team. Danielle was a great addition to the TEAM family for the summer and helped on numerous projects including coordinating the activation of events at the Gold Cup at New Meadowlands Stadium and the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. We wish her all the best as she begins her senior year and thank you!

Live Nation

TEAM and Live Nation are partnering with NHTSA and the HERO Campaign for a third straight year to offer designated-driver booths at 5 Live Nation venues in the northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

  • Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA

  • PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ

  • Jiffy Lube Live in Manassas, VA

  • Farm Bureau Live in Virginia Beach, VA

  • Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, NY

Each of these venues will offer fans the opportunity to pledge to be the designated driver that night for their friends and family. In return, those fans who pledge are entered for a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Season from each venue and will win tickets a concert of their choosing the following year. TEAM is also seeking volunteers to help staff the designated-driver booths at the five venues. If you are interested in volunteering please email TEAM Coalition!

In June TEAM and MillerCoors partnered to promote responsibility at Gold Cup matches throughout the country. The Mother Nature Network was on hand to document the partnership. You can view the video above!
