TEAM Coalition is proud to announce its newest initiative to prevent drunk driving and encourage fans to designate a driver. TEAM Up 2 Win
is a partnership between the TEAM Coalition and NCAA® which allows companies to celebrate NCAA March Madness®
while encouraging their staff to have fun, cheer on their favorite team and celebrate responsibility.
...they will be eligible to win a trip to San Antonio for the 2008 NCAA® Men's Final Four. Companies can register their organization and find out more information at the TEAM Up 2 Win website, www.teamup2win.org. We hope you will consider joining this fun and worthwhile effort.
Every year TEAM Coalition honors the sports and entertainment organizations and facilities that train and certify the most employees in TEAM's effective alcohol management program. The recognized organizations demonstrate a strong and sustained commitment to alcohol management and TEAM is proud to commend them for their efforts. Please click on the categories below to view the training award winners: In addition to the traditional categories of Excellent and Championship Performers, TEAM created a new designation called the Prestigious Achievement award. This award recognizes venues in which the entire operations staff was at least 80% TEAM certified in 2007, demonstrating a continued commitment over the three year span of a standard employee certification period. This year's winners of the new award included the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals and the San Diego Padres. We congratulate all of our winners!
TEAM Coalition returned to the Super Bowl again this winter to promote and run the designated driver program within University of Phoenix
Stadium during Super Bowl XLII®. This year we received help from the Arizona's Office of Highway Safety; Coors Brewing Company; the HERO Campaign; and Crescent Crown Distributing, a Coors distributor, whose personnel staffed the booths throughout the venue. Hundreds of fans made the pledge to enjoy the game responsibility by getting their family and friends home safely from the game. But there were two
fans in particular who understood the rewards of responsbility: Christina Alavian and Jonathan Zeichner attended the game as winners of the 2007
NFL RHIR sweepstakes. They had signed up as designated drivers at Gillette Stadium and Giants Stadium, respectively, during the course of the
2007 season and were chosen as their team's designated driver for the season. Since their teams made it to Super Bowl XLII® they each won a trip
to the game.
2007 was TEAM’s busiest year ever in our Instructor Development Program (IDP). A total of 18 IDP workshops were
conducted at sports and entertainment facilities across the country attended by 191 new trainers and 71 recertifying trainers.
This year is proving to be equally as exciting! Trainers receive all the materials necessary to conduct team training in effective
alcohol management at their facility for their staff. Please let us know if you are interested in hosting a future IDP. The host receives two free registrations.

Play ball! TEAM Coalition, Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer are about to kick off the 2008 Responsibility Has Its Rewards
sweepstakes for designated drivers encouraging fans to be responsible and plan ahead before attending professional sporting events
by always having a sober designated driver.
Various MLB Clubs will host the Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) promotion this spring as it takes a tour to ballparks throughout the country celebrating the beginning of the 2008 season. Each Club event will be a chance for fans to film their own responsibility video about buckling up, designating a driver and, of course, cheering on their home team. TEAM will use the footage to produce public service announcements for each Club promoting its in-stadium designated driver program. These are the participating MLB Clubs:
Look for the new public service announcements at an MLB ballpark near you throughout the season!
When was the last time you logged into the TEAM training database as a TEAM trainer? If it has been a while or even just a few days, we invite our trainers to log into the system and get familiar with a few system improvements we have made recently. Designed with your input in mind, these enhancements will enable you to:
Chances are if you need it from TEAM, you can get it off the website by logging in. As always, go the TEAM Coalition website and click on the 'Trainer Login' button. Provide your email address and trainer ID to log in. So check it out and let us know what you think.
Aaron Schmitt is the Manager of Event Services for the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Aaron has been certified as a TEAM trainer since 2006. He immediately became quite active as a trainer; he and his associates with the Bills trained over 600 of their staff in 2007 alone. He was also instrumental in increasing fan awareness of the Bills designated driver program during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Prior to both seasons the Bills hosted a Responsibility Has Its Rewards event for fans during training camp. Fans filmed their own responsibility messages and a Public Service Message was produced as a result of the event. Click here to see the PSA. In the classroom, Aaron is known for his playful and energetic attitude to help engage participants. His TEAM training tip is “to know your audience. Understand what will and will not work with them. The presentation is yours to modify and should be done to meet the needs and specifications of your facility." Aaron became a TEAM Master Trainer in April 2007.
TEAM constantly travels to promote our efforts in effective alcohol management and positive fan behavior. Here is the list of the events we will attend this spring.
