RESPONSIBILITY HAS ITS
REWARDS WINNERS GO TO SUPER BOWL
For the second consecutive season, TEAM coordinated an NFL-wide promotion called Responsibility
Has Its Rewards to support existing designated driver programs. Over 80,000 fans pledged to be
designated drivers at NFL stadiums throughout the 2004/05 season. Each team selected one of their
fans to be their designated driver for the season. Those winners from the New England Patriots –
Andrew D'Agostino – and Philadelphia Eagles – Wayne Brosius – will join their favorite teams at
the Super Bowl in Jacksonville, FL on February 6th.
A third winner (selected randomly from the
designated drivers for the season from the NFL teams not playing in the Super Bowl) was selected
to win a trip to the Pro Bowl in Honolulu, HI. That winner is Jeff Mitter – designated driver for
the season from the Detroit Lions.
TEAM saw a tremendous increase in the support the promotion received in its second season from the NFL,
the 32 teams, and football fans. TV and radio public service announcements generated greater awareness as did
in-stadium messages.

COMPLETE THE PASS - SUPER BOWL PLANNER FROM NHTSA
TEAM partnered with NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to develop a mini-
planner for the state highway safety offices to use to promote responsible alcohol consumption and the designated
driver program as fans nationwide watch the Super Bowl on Sunday February 6, 2005.
The planner includes poster images, fact sheets, and sample news releases so that a consistent traffic safety message
is distributed across the country.
2004 TRAINING AWARD WINNERS The TEAM Coalition is proud to recognize several professional sports
leagues, teams, concessionaires, and facilities for their commitment to promoting responsible alcohol
consumption at entertainment and sporting events. In 2004, over 11,000 employees from 33 facilities became certified in
the program. 51 trainers taught at least 100 employees, with 4 trainers certifying over 500. 11 sports teams
representing MLB, NBA, and NFL were recognized. And 9 concessionaires at sports and entertainment facilities won awards.

TEAM WELCOMES TWO NEW MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS The
TEAM Coalition is thrilled to welcome the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) and MLS (Major
League Soccer) to the Coalition. Both organizations have been active in the Coalition for some time. However, the
financial contribution truly affirms their commitment to TEAM's mission.
With the assistance and endorsement of the
NCAA, TEAM plans to target the BCS Conferences to gain their participation in the alcohol management training for
sports and entertainment facility training and fan education programs about responsible behavior.
TEAM and MLS plan to launch the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes for designated drivers with the start of the
season in April. PSAs are being developed now. This promotion will coincide with the second season of the MLB
Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes.
