WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wednesday, December 17, 2008) – The EagleBank Bowl is proud to announce TEAM Coalition will participate in the Fan zone at the Inaugural EagleBank Bowl Game, which is to be held on Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium. The announcement was made by Marie Rudolph, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl.

“TEAM Coalition is a part of nearly every major sporting event in the country and their messaging is very important,” said Rudolph. “We are happy to have them on board.”

The Designated Driver program gives EagleBank Bowl fans the opportunity to play a critical, proactive role when it comes to responsible drinking, by making sure everyone gets home from the game safely. The EagleBank Bowl organizers, Premium Distributors, and WRAP (Washington Regional Alcohol Program) are proving to be a great team when it comes to responsibility and teamwork is exactly what we are all about," said Jill Pepper, Executive Director of TEAM Coalition.

Fans that make the Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) pledge to always have a designated driver, never drive drunk, and always buckle up will receive a free soft drink and also be entered into a drawing to win a prize. In addition to the prize the winner will be featured on the video board during the third quarter.

“This is another very important partnership for the Inaugural EagleBank Bowl,” said Sean Metcalf, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl. “We started this bowl game with certain goals in mind. Creating revenues for local businesses, benefiting local charities and helping to get out TEAM Coalition’s responsibility message is just another great thing for the community.”

EAGLEBANK BOWL:
The DC Bowl Committee, Inc. was formed as a community and charitable organization to host the first-ever NCAA-sanctioned, post-season bowl game in Washington, DC. On September 10, 2008 the dream became a reality when the EagleBank Bowl officially became a part of the D.C. sports and entertainment landscape. While the DC Bowl Committee brought the game to the region there are two other entities that are valued contributors in making this game a marquee event. The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission has been a valued partner from the very beginning. When EagleBank signed on as a title sponsor it gave the game instant credibility particularly in the business community. The game kicks off the 2008 bowl season on Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium live on ESPN. The goals for bringing the game to Washington include boosting the regional economy, putting the nation’s capital on the map as a college football destination and to raise money for several local charities.
