The TEAM Coalition and Major League Soccer^® joined together in support of designated driver programs at all MLS stadiums during the 2008 season with a special incentive. Thousands of MLS fans registered to be a designated driver, pledged to not drink alcohol, drove their friends and family home safely, and ensured that everyone always buckled up.

At the end of the season, one designated driver from each club was selected. Click here for designated drivers for the season from each MLS club.The selected designated drivers from the teams that competed in MLS Cup 2008^® on November 23, 2008 each received two (2) tickets to the championship game played at Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. A trip to the 2009 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game^® in Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT will be awarded to the designated driver for the season of a club which did not play in MLS Cup 2008^®. The All-Star Game^® trip includes two (2) tickets to the game, roundtrip airfare, and hotel accommodations (if necessary). Click here to see the 2008 All-Star Game.

Entrants for the Responsibilty Has Its Rewards sweepstakes were all MLS fans who pledged to be the designated driver for their friends and family at an MLS stadium during the 2008 season. Entry was also available online at www.rhir.org or by mail. Click here for complete sweepstakes rules.

To promote this incentive, TEAM produced TV and radio PSAs. The TV PSAs aired on local broadcast stations in MLS markets, and they were also played on the video boards in MLS stadiums. The radio PSAs aired on local radio stations and national radio networks. Click here for the PSAs.
